Adopt A Tree at Pantai Eco Park
“Adopt a Tree” at Pantai Eco Park: A public campaign by the Malaysian Nature Society and Indah Water Konsortium to rehabilitate Pantai Eco Park
The oldest environmental-based NGO in Malaysia, the Malaysian Nature Society (MNS) is partnering with the national sewerage company, Indah Water Konsortium (IWK) Sdn Bhd to revitalise the recreational Pantai Eco Park in Pantai Dalam, Kuala Lumpur, which will increase green cover of the park within the next two years. Planting trees is a first step to rehabilitate the park. The trees are expected to become shelter to urban fauna species (eg. garden birds). A newly available ecosystem at Pantai Eco Park will allow environmental education and interpretive activities for local community.
Herbs, forest tress and wild fruit trees will make its way to Pantai Eco Park. A total of 500 trees will be planted by the end of 2020. These plants will utilise the biosolid supplied by IWK, which is a by-product of the wastewater treatment process. The biosolids can be put to good use such as soil conditioners, fertiliser to improve soil condition and enhance plant growth for non-food crops.
Thus, we are pleased to announce “Adopt a Tree” donation campaign, where you will get to donate a tree (or more) and we will plant and maintain it on behalf of you at Pantai Eco Park. With MNS’s eight decades of experience and versatility, we will continue to conserve Malaysia’s natural heritage that will be a legacy for the future generation.
We need your support to bring additional forest cover in Klang Valley. What are you waiting for? Simply complete this form if you want to donate a tree to be planted at Pantai Eco Park! A special certificate awaits all donors.
