A community engagement training on the Whistleblower Protection Act organized by C4 Center with speakers from the Malaysian Anti- Corruption Commission (MACC) and Department of Environment (DOE) exclusively for members of Malaysian Nature Society (MNS). The objective of this training is to raise awareness on the Whistleblower Protection Act 2010, to understand the challenges faced by MNS and their members in advocating for environmental issues, and to explore solutions.
Environmental crimes are also under the purview of the Department of Environment (DOE) as such we have invited DOE as a panelist for this event. The idea is to learn from the DOE about their procedures and how they investigate environmental crime cases upon a complaint being made by a whistleblower/complainant.
The programme also aims to provide a platform for MNS members to have a dialogue with the authorities and learn from each other’s experiences. See below the programme schedule:
